Hello World!

Hello World!
There wasn't much information that I found on the internet about Winter plants that are available in Sydney. I think it'd be easier just to visit a gardening store and they should have plant seeds for the current season.
I've thought up of another variable for my experiment - the language of the music played to the plants should remain the same - in this case, I think I should stick to English. The songs for my plants have not been chosen but I do have an idea of which songs I'm preferring to use. The songs will be played in the morning as the sun rises, and again, using the same song, in the afternoon when the sun is setting. They will be played everyday for a period of 2 months. I need to download the sunrise and sunset times, I might even download daily temperatures, find the monthly average and compare the amount of growth in different sunrises, sunsets and daily temperatures. It's just a thought, though...
Also, to fund my experiment, I have started completely more household duties, and mum's agreed to give me enough money. Besides, it's 'educational', so why not...?
Something that I'm not looking forward to is waking up at 6 in the morning, especially in Winter... Sigh. The sacrifices we make as kids are truly magnificent.
Okay then, I'm gonna get some sleep, maybe even think about SRP, you never know...
Lota luv,

Hello World!

Hello World, sorry I haven't been on for a while - these weeks have been hectic as ever and every weekend is taken up either from work or singing competitions. As soon as this week's Clean Up Australia Day event is over, I'll be able to update more frequently.

Anyways, I've decided to choose the plant growing, music playing experiment to do.
I'll be able to buy the equipment and materials that I need from local florists. The music that will be played to the plants can be downloaded from the internet or I'll just use CDs that I already have at home. I'm just wondering if there is any copyrights that might affect the music I play...

Also, the details for my experiment have not entirely been settled but I plan to use the same plant for experiment 1, which will be conducted over a 2 or 3 month period, and a different plant for experiment 2, which will be conducted at the same time in the 2 or 3 month period. Of course, the music will be the same for both plants and it will vary according to different styles of music. Maybe a bit of rock, country, classical and one without any music. There will be four plants, each being played or not played music. To keep the variables balanced, they will be put in the side balcony, west of the house, where even sunlight will be absorbed. However, the fact that Autumn and Winter is approaching does limit the amount of sunlight for the plant. But that's fixable, as I can choose a plant that grows better in Winter. Also, that side of the house is the least noisy, so it shouldn't interrupt my the variables. Another variable I have to consider is the amount of nutrients that each plant should receive, such as the amount of water, maybe plant food as well.

To record the results, I have bought a digital camera to capture shots of the plants growth every 2 weeks. These will record the physical changes of the plants. I will conduct more research on soils and if it's possible to measure the state of the soil using household equipment. Other than physical changes, I'm not sure what else I can observe and measure.

Ok, I just realised how tedious this is going to be...
But if I follow my plans, I think I'll be able to scrape through this project, ALIVE.
Sigh.
Talk to you next time kids,
Missvintagevogue.
